Autry Cartelli <br />Second Place <br />RAMS Grade <br />Mr. Ueland <br />Stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination are directed at <br />many different groups of people in our world. I chase to write about <br />how these actions are used against gays and lesbians. I chase to <br />write about this topic because I have a personal connection, my <br />parents are lesbians. I am proud to have lesbian parents; it gives me <br />a different look at the world. <br />These are some examples of how people stereotype gay and <br />lesbian people. Some people think that gay men are feminmeand <br />very happy. Some people also think that when you're gay your <br />house is very decorative. With lesbians, some people assume that <br />they are manly and that they love power tools. Also, people think <br />that they love to do the work that is supposedly meant for men, like <br />carpentry and building things, <br />People are prejudice against gay and/or lesbian people by <br />saying that they don't like the way they look or act. Some people <br />might not want to be associated with gays and lesbians. Some <br />religions believe if you are gay or lesbian you will go to hell. <br />Some adults say that if you are gay or lesbian they don't want <br />you to teach or interact with their chid. People also call gay and <br />lesbians bad and rude names. If you are a child who is gay or <br />lesbian, some kids might not want to play with you or be your <br />friend. <br />
