Future Agenda Items <br />Chair Singleton said he spoke with staff about the number of commissioners. The bylaws <br />reference ten commissioners while the City Code references seven commissioners. The number <br />of commissioners was reduced to seven to be consistent with several of the other commissions. <br />In addition, the City often had a difficult time getting an adequate number of applicants for <br />vacancies on the commission. <br />Commissioners will also discuss Civic Engagement, 2011 Chair's Initiatives and Youth <br />Membership. <br />Commissioner McKenzie requested information about whether the City of Roseville recognized <br />domestic partnerships or offered partner benefits. <br />Chair Singleton said he would update the Commission on his meeting with Police Chief Rick <br />Mathwig. <br />Commissioner McKenzie reminded others of the Department of Human Rights Conference on <br />December and the dinner hosted by the State League of Human Rights on December 2. <br />Commissioner McKenzie moved and Commissioner Yates seconded motion to underwrite <br />attendance at the December 2 dinner at a cost of $30 per commissioner. Motion prevailed <br />unanimously. <br />Commissioners must notify Carolyn Curti by November 15 if they plan to attend. <br />8. Announcements <br />Commissioner Yates spoke briefly about her trip to South Africa, learning about early childhood <br />education. <br />Commissioner Oftelie spoke about her recent trip to Missouri. <br />9. Adjournment <br />Commissioner Josephson moved and Commissioner McKenzie seconded motion to adjourn. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
