<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA - HELD <br /> <br />December 30, 1974 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Roseville, Ramsey County, Minnesota, was <br />duly held in the City Hall at 2701 North Lexington Avenue, Roseville, <br />Minnesota, on the 30th day of December, 1974, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Linebarger, Councilmen <br />Hess, Brennan and Curley <br /> <br />and the following were absent: Councilman Demos <br /> <br />Member Curley <br />and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6195 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE SUBURBAN <br />RATE AUTHORITY: DIRECTING THE EXECUTION AND DELIVERY <br />OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT: AND DESIGNATING A REPRE- <br />SENTATIVE OF THE CITY AS ITS MEMBER ON THE BOARD OF THE <br />SUBURBAN RATE AUTHORITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville is authorized by Minnesota <br />Statutes, Section 471.59 to enter into joint and cooperative agreements <br />with other governmental units, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the City <br />cooperate with other municipalities in the monitoring of utility <br />services in the Metropolitan Area by participating in the Suburban <br />Rate Authority, an existing cooperative organization with experience <br />in the field of utility rate regulation, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is necessary <br />and desirable that the Suburban Rate Authority continue in existence, <br />notwithstanding the assumption of utility regulatory powers by the <br />State, for the purpose of monitoring utility services and participating <br />to the maximum degree possible in the utility rate-making procedure, and <br />that the Suburban Rate Authority's scope of activities be broadened to <br />include electric utilities and other utilities if necessary. <br />
