COUNCILMAN HESS: The motion is for denial.

MR. POPOVICH: You could kill it if you want to or take
it under advisement. You have six months. If you do nothing
it's automatically dead. If during the six month period the
Rice Creek people would come in and take care of the costs in
some way - but if you kill it tonight it's dead. If you just
keep it in abeyance, depending on what Rice Creek might do -
that's only what I'm pointing out. Once you kill it you have
to readvertise over again -

MR. GARY CARLSON, 1379 Clarmar: This is Karl Rolvaag's
old house. I signed the first petition. It was presented as
simply to clear the little kiddie area. I'm sure that many
people felt they were just signing a petition to clear a small
area that did not involve a $200,000 project. I think most
of the people are against the sewer program as proposed. The
lake is a separate problem. I would at least like to see the
project cancel 75-6 as far as a s~wer drainage project as such
and not to just table it. As far as the lake being cleared
up that's an entirely different project. The fact that Rose-
ville is now 20 years old - there's been low areas - there's
got to be drainage areas. A few people now have minor pro-
blems. A small l2 inch pipe will for virtually no cost clear
up a minor flooding problem so as far as a sewer project, I
would like that killed. If there are other projects to get
the lake cleaned up, that's another area.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: We haven't heard from anybody who signed
the original petition.

MRS. LLOYD .SATHER, 1396 Clarmar: I have had the privilege
of meeting a lot of my wonderful neighbors in the past week. I
helped this other lady here - Miss Collyer - we went around
(inaudible) everyone of them and we loved them all, and you
know we went to many houses that didn't know what this was all
about with the exception of getting this wonderful letter from
the City Hall. But there weren't many of them that wanted any-
thing to do with this because they had no problems. Why are we
being forced to pay another bill now. We've paid for our sewer
and our water and why do we have to pay for something we do not
need, and you can talk to a lot of people - last night, for 1n-
stance, we had 500 as far as a baseball game was concerned, that

21
