Rice Creek Watershed would let us overS1ze the pipes and that1s

why I suggested we wait.

MR. DONALD STECHER, 1211 Josephine Road: I was at the
Rice Creek meeting last week and I don't believe I'm wrong,
but I'm sure if Roseville passed this program that the Rice
Creek District would not approve it and I understand their
authority is higher than the City Council, and it was my im-
pression they expect Roseville to come back with an alternate
plan to consider. They gave me the distinct impression this
would not be approved so I think whatever vote you would take
on this is for naught unless an alternate also would be - they
do not want to approve something that would have to be done
over. There's one sewer - a 60 inch - that sooner or later is
going to have to be done and it's going to cost more to divert
than if it had been done right in the beginning.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: As far as an alternate plan, Roseville
cannot embark on that alone. Mr. Keller said the additional
$300,000 is worth every penny, but in order to bond on that we
would have to have a referendum.

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: I think everybody should be aware of
the fact that the assessments will be much more in excess of
$250 if it's done the way you want it done.

MAYOR LINEBARGER: Considerably more. The way this thing
is now, you people, had this thing gone through, would only be
paying 22% of it. Everybody around Roseville would be putting
up the 78%, and if it got down belm.J that 22% there's no way you
could tax it without a referendum.

Councilman Hess then moved the adoption of the following

resolution:

Resolution No. 6267
RESOLUTION ORDERING CONSTRUCTION OF
IMPROVEMENT ST-75-6, HA,MLINE-JOSEPHlNE
AREA STORM SEWER BE DENIED

The motion was seconded by Councilman Brennan and upon roll

call vote being taken the following voted in favor thereof: All;

and the following voted against the same: None

WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.

24
