MR. HONCHELL: Not, I suppose, for wildlife.
Realistically as soon as you introduce this many homes
and kids I wouldn't tell you it will be a beautiful nest-
ing area for ducks but at least hopefully it will be a
nice area for people and some open space. (inaudible) to
prevent that water from continuing to go over to Prior
Circle and elsewhere, the roadway will be raised up above
the existing (inaudible) and excavation done for the pond
so we will control the various elevations of the water.

COUNCILMAN GRAUEL: Will you have an elevation control
on the outlet pipe?

MR. HONCHELL: It's hoped to drain dry so it can be
used by the residents. In large rains it will take a
while.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: How deep do you anticipate it
will be?

MR. HONCHELL: I suppose it depends on the rain.
If it's a hundred year rain it might be six feet. If
it happens every spring it might be two feet.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: I had hoped that (inaudible) now
the last several years it's had water in it all year
long.

MR. HONCHELL: There's a little (inaudible) pond.
That means there's some natural types of soil that allow
as the water comes in that something doesn't go right
through in the sand. There's a thin amount of silt
which right now is forming a water proof barrier. It's
relatively small in nature and with the construction,
we don't see that seal being kept.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else like to be heard? I will
declare the hearing closed.

Councilman Curley then introduced the following
resolution and moved its adoption:

4
