MAYOR DEMOS: Is there anyone else that wishes to be
heard?

MARIE HINZ, 2995 West Owasso Boulevard (Spoke before):
I was told if I wanted to get a variance that I should wait,
but I was wondering if I should do it now.

MAYOR DEMOS:
close the hearing.

That's unrelated. At this time I w&ll
The Council can make its deliberation.

COUNCILMAN ANDERSON: I have lived in the village probably-
getting to be quite a few years now. I moved in in 1954. I'm
in my second house. I live across the street from where I
originally moved in. I got on the Planning Commission in 196~.
I've either been on the Planning Commission looking at these
things or been on the Council ever since except for a two year
vacation that I had at the insistence of you folks when you
wouldn't re-elect me, and really, this project doesn't look
any different than an awful lot that I've seen before. My
feeling is that this development may not be too beneficial
to some of the individuals there, but when I think of the
city as a whole, I think that's an excellent project. I think
for the city that's the way we should develop. I have seen
people just like you out here in the audience complaining
bitterly because the guy that owns the property back in there
wants apartments and there were things that we had to take
under consideration. My feeling on a residential development
on a piece of property like this is excellent and if the motion
is going to be carried tonight, I'm going to vote in favor of
it. I've never yet in all my time up here serving the public
voted the way the people in the audience come up and just because
they're one way, or just because they threaten they're not going
to vote for me the next time around - that don't cut any ice
with me at all. I listen and I try to hear the point you're
talking about, but I didn't hear enough points tonight that
could make me vote against this project, so when it comes time
to vote, I will vote in favor of it.

FROM THE AUDIENCE: (inaUdible) Northern States Power
(inaudible) .

COUNCILMAN ANDERSON: And that doesn't cut any ice with
me either.

-41-
