I live in a spot where three lots to the west of me there's a street light, right next to me there's a church parking lot with two lights next to my property line. To the south of me and west there are more church lights, and right behind me within, I'd say 35 feet of my property line - there's a lighted tennis court. I have plenty of light in my area, and I don't have any complaint from anybody about too much light. I've heard lots of complaints about darkness so my feeling is that I will vote in favor of it. Councilman Curley then introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Resolution No. 6'5t./7 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENT UL-77-9 UNDER AND PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES CHAPTER 429 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a public hearing on the proposed Improvement UL-77-9 consisting of the installation of ornamental street lights on Shorewood Lane from Wheeler Street to Lydia Avenue, and Shorewood Curve from Wheeler Street to Shorewood Lane, as described in the Notice of Hearing at a cost presently estimated at $1,295.50, and substantially in accordance with the preliminary report as to the feasibility thereof which is now on file in the office of the City Manager, and having considered the views of all interested persons and being fully advised in the pre- mises, the Council does hereby determine and order that said improvement shall be constructed and financed, and special assessments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said Chapter 429, and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor shall include the property as described in the Notice of Hearing. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Hess, and upon roll call vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All, and the following voted against the same: None, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
