the curbs in - it improves the area much. I think it's well
worth the money and will never be any cheaper than today. Thank
you.

MRS. l1ILTON SEGAL, l837 Aglen~ I think that we have a
pretty nice neighborhood right now without these curbs, and
when you live on a limited income and you cannot afford it, they
don't take into consideration people who have just a certain
income and cannot afford it. They're thinking because they
work, two people work in a family, they can do it. Well, other
people can't, and you're assessed and you have to pay it. You
got your interest - if you do not pay it, it compounds. ~fuat
are you supposed to do when you live on $250 a month, and I
think that we do not need it.

r1R. GARY SCHROEDER, l856 Aglen: I lived in the City of
St. Paul for 17 years of my life. One neighborhood they put
new curbs in, five or six years later through city maintenance
of plowing, etc., the curbs were eaten away with the salt -
completely deteriorated. How can a young couple, such as
myself, who, unless I send my wife back to work, afford such
a luxury? The street isn't that bad. l1aybe a little up-keeping
can be done, but I don't think there's a need for it.

MR. DALLAS LEAR, 1900 Aglen~ I might mention that some
parts of the City of St. Paul do not have curb, gutter and so
forth (inaudible). Just across Larpenteur, as a matter of
fact. I would like to ask r~r. Honchell, if they do put in
the curb and gutter, what type of curb were you talking about?
A sloping curb so we could still get lawn (inaudible) or a 6
inch verticle curb?

rm. HONCHELL~ The curb is called a B6-l8 which is the
(inaudible) one you described, merely a technical term. It's
essentially a straight up and down curb - six inches high.

MR. LEAR:
right?

There is a storm sewer now on Roselawn, is that
I

MR. HONCHELL~ Yes, we're going to carry the water on the
northerly part of Aglen toward Roselawn.

~1R. LEAR: Is there a catch basin now on Roselawn?

MR. HONCHELL: A storm sewer under the street.

MR. LEAR~ (Inaudible). I'm at 1900. There are two
catch basins now. Is that approximately 32 feet apart?

r1R. HONCHELL: Close to that, at least.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else that wishes to be heard? Any
one else? If not, I will declare this hearing closed and turn
it over to the Council.
