streets, and we have not gone over the estimates any appreciable
amount. I wouldn't say it's (inaudible) a foot, but we have
been extremely close in our estimates in the ?ast. I cannot
guarantee you this is going to be right, but our track record
is - we have been pretty well on it.

COUNCIL~mN CURLEY: Their estimates are very close and
there's nothing like what you just illustrated in Mountain Lake,
Minnesota.

MR. LEAR~ If this goes through and all of a sudden it
gets taken care of and we get a bill for $900.00 or $1,000.00,
you say "we made a mistake".

COUNCILMAN GRAUEL: I think if the bids were taken - no
doubt you're going to get eight or ten contractors bidding on
the job, and if the bids come in very high, or would come in
excessively high over what the estimates are, the Council
reserves the right not to go ahead with the improvement.

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: I think many more times their estimates
were below - their estimates have always been in range. They've
been great. They have never exceeded.

COUNCIL~mN GRAUEL: We just completed a project on Woodlyn.
Do you recall what those figures came in at?

MR. HONCHELL: I think the total cost is $6.00 a foot and
I think we had it estimated at something like $6.70 a foot.

COUNCIU1AN GRAUEL: That will give you an example of the
range. Costs could go up. You can't guarantee those figures,
but it's the best estimate we can make.

HAYOR DEHOS ~ I closed the hearing.

FROH THE AUDIENCE: Mr. Andre pointed out the senior citi-
zens. The person who asked the question is not a senior
citizeny but is on a limited income.

MRS. MILTON SEGAL, 1837 Aglen~ Yes, we're senior citizens.

r1AYOR DEI~S~ I will ask for the Council's deliberation.

COUNCILtmN HESS: Mr. Popovich, on the Alternate 1, is
that $8.60?

MR. POPOVICH: Yes.

COUNCILMAN CURLEY: ~llio in this audience that do not live
in Alternate 2 that wants the street?

MAYOR DEr~S: In other words, you live south of Ruggles.
