CONNORS: So at this time I said I was for Ryan Avenue, but as the proposal stands, I'm against the project. I'll be against the project until the people on Shryer Avenue and the people on Ryan Avenue from Oxford to Lexington are agreeable to it. MAYOR DEMOS: Are you also against Ryan alone? MR. CONNORS: Yes, I am. MR. NORMAN GORANOWSKI, 988 Ryan: Part of what's happened here - we had a discussion with the engineering department, and the way they led us to believe is if we say we want Ryan we're automatically going to get stuck with Oxford too. MAYOR DEMOS: That's not true. MR. GORANOWSKI: That's the way the engineering department led us to believe. If we say we want to go ahead with Ryan, and they (inaudible) the petition, and we said we want to up- grade Ryan, and they said about $7.50 a foot and that's what we thought, and when the discussion was made with the engineer- ing department they said it's entirely up the Council whether or not Oxford is thrown in with the Ryan project. MAYOR DEMOS: That's true. That's why that's all Been broken apart and put back together. We can never expand a project, but we can cut it down. MR. GORANOWSKI: The way it was explained by the engineer- ing department, the alternative was Ryan and all of Oxford. Alternative 2 was Ryan and the northern section of Oxford. That's why we're under the impression that we got (inaudible). MAYOR DEMOS: You can still get Ryan by itself and the estimated cost is $7.65 a front foot, if I'm not mistaken. It can be done Ryan alone, or Oxford alone, or together, with two alternatives.
