MR. HONCHELL: They would have a bituminous curb
going from the end of the bituminous around the areas,
quite similar to what there is now. If you look at
Shryer, as an example, as it come off Lexington. The
normal design is in the concrete curb - you have a full
height bituminous rolled curb that's hand made Bnd that
tapers quickly down to match the existing rolled (in-
audible) .

MR. SASSEN: You will put a tapered block in.

MR. HONCHELL: This will be hand made and tapered
down to the existing asphalt.

MR. SASSEN: I will go on record as saying I'm against
the project because I would have to see a larger portion
of the village taken into account before I would consider
it.

MR. HAROLD RODMAN, 1026 Ryan Avenue: I am also opposed
to doing anything with Ryan Avenue at this time. In fact,
I have other thoughts on this. In the first place, I don't
think a street that's as little traveled as Ryan should be
given preference over streets that are in worse condition
and need the work. I can see where Aglen could possibly
stand the work. This is really foolish to go right in the
middle of the place and tear it up and tell me you're going
to be able to meet every grade when you put the other streets
in. It might be theoretically possible, but not practically
possible. I think the City Council should take the initia-
tive and when there's a street that has to be put in, they
should put it in and charge the whole city.

COUNCILMAN GRAUEL: We just did that last year, and where
were you when we needed you?

MR. RODMAN: I wish I had been here.

COUNCILMAN GRAUEL: I wish you had too. We had about
three public hearings that you could have attended, and
there were 500 or 600 people in opposition to the presenta-
tion of the City Council and staff from the yelling and
swearing and the hoots and hollering, and you name it.
