I guess at this point lid rather stop and go through
some of the numbers for Oxford alone, and again, before we
get into the numbers, remember that in the past, side lots
on the side portion rather than the front portion, are only
assessed lO% of whatever the distance is. This lot of 158
feet would only be assessed for l5.8 feet, the exception
being this middle lot, and there it's frontage. They would
be assessed for the entire 140 feet. But if you start hearing
some of these numbers, it's not 154 feet of assessment, but
15.4 feet.

MR. POPOVICH: The total published cost was $33,861.59
but the Public Works Department now estimates that $31,901
would be the total cost - roughly $2,000 less.

For the street, curb and gutter portion, the total cost
there is $24,020 and the frontage is 210.37 assessable feet.
If that were lOO% assessed it would be $114.l9 a front foot.
It's recommended at 25% of that and it will come to $28.55
which would raise $6,000 for special assessments, and the
balance of $lB,013 would go on general taxes. That's the
street, curb and gutter portion.

On the watermain portion, that cost is $6,485, and the
total assessable footage is 215. If 100% assessed, it would
be $30.l5 a front. The recommendation is 25%, or $8.50 a
front foot. That will bring in $1,827 and the balance of
$4657 will go on general taxes.

There are two services for water service, and, of
course, that's always lOO% assessed from the street to the
lot line. That's $292.50, and for sanitary sewer service,
which is also lOO% assessed, it would be $405.50. There
are only those two that would pick that up.

We would recommend 20 year assessments at 8% with the
right of prepayment as has been our policy.

MR. HONCHELL: If we could now - discuss the possibi-
lity if these two projects were combined, namely the Ryan
and Oxford improvements, and we'd like to think about this
