~ ~ t /~

Extract of Minutes of Meeting
of City Council
City of Roseville
Ramsey County, Hinnesota

February 27, 1978

Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, was
held in the City Hall in said City on Monday, February 27, 1978,
at 7:30 o'clock p.m.

The fOllowing members were present: Mayor Demos and
Councilmen Curley, Kehr, Franke and Anderson~ and the fOllowing
were absent: None.

Also present were Mr. James F. Andre, City Manager~ Robert
Bell, City Attorney~ Charles Honchell, City Public Works
Director~ and Peter S. Popovich, City Bond Consultant.

MAYOR DEHOS: The meeting will come to order.

..........

MAYOR DEMOS: At this time I would like to open the
hearing on the watermain project on Trunk Highway 36 Service
Road and Snelling Avenue by Har Har Apartments, Project 77-25.

MR. ANDRE: I have the Certificate of Hailing the Notice
of Hearing, and affidavit of publication for this project.

MAYOR DEMOS: Mr. Honchell.

MR. HONCHELL: This project is a result of an inquiry from
the Fire Department to see if additional fire fighting facilities
could be provided to serve the Har Mar Apartments, based on
the fact that there were 13 fires in that location at that
facility in 1977, and the only hydrant that's readily available
to fight fires is located at the extreme southern boundary of
the facility at the rear of a parking area served by the clinic.
As a result of this, a feasibility study was ordered, and it is
our recommendation that a new six-inch line be constructed
from the existing line at the southwest corner of the facility
along the common boundary between the Har Mar Apartments and
adjacent apartments approximately 300 feet, and from there
approximately 250 feet due east to the front of the third, or
middle, unit where an additional hydrant would be set on the
edge of the parking lot facility to aid in fire fighting.

MR. POPOVICH: Mayor and members of the Council, the
total cost included in the feasibility report is $25,679.99,
