balance on general taxes. 25% of ti1is total cost is $5,919.
The total front footage in the area is 1,056 feet ~lhich will
average at $5.61 a front foot. It would be spread over a 20
year periOd with one-u~entieth of the principal paid each year
together with interest at 8% with the right of prepayment as
has been our previous policy.

MR. ANDRE~ There are no written statements.

fl~YOR DErlOS ~ I \'lould like to o1?en the hearinc;r to the
public. Are there any statements pro or con to this proposal?
I "lould ask that anyone "'Tho wishes to speal<, qi ve your name
and address at the microphone.

rm. ALBERT LAVOIE, 3051 Lydia Court~ I have been at that
address for the past IS years, and the contractor that built
the street initially did a good job. T'1e still have the saMe
road, and with a minimum amount of maintenance it will last
another IS years. By position is that you should be acting on
this on tl1e basis of need, and I don't think we need it. Sure,
it will look good. The only argument I got from the person who
dreH up the petition is that it ''I1ould appreciate the property.
Our property is appreciating G% to 10% a year. ~fuat more do
you want? I don't need this. The street looks fine as it is.
Ne have no traffic problems or water problems. Ne have no
problems. ~ib~ a minimum amount of maintenance it will last
for another 15 years. Thank you.

r}IAYOR DE~lOS~ Anyone else?

MR. DICK WIER, 3071 Lydia Court~ 11m in favor of the
street improvenent there. I think that I recognize the street
is not in bad condition, but itls in a marginal position. It
was a temporary street and I think we have to improve our
properties and I don't t.hink the street will last another IS
years. If it does, it will need repair, and I think those costs
are going to be more than what putting the street in now would
cost us, so I'm in favor of it.

HAYOR DEt10S; Anyone else?

rm. LQr\1ELL ODLAND, 30 9 2 Lydi.a Court ~ I I m in favor 0 f the
improvement. I don r t knO\<J if r1r 0 Honchell mentioned the timinq.
Is it possible to put it in this year?

1'm. HONCHELL ~ N'e I re hopeful, hut I ,,,,oul(l, hate to say that
it's definitely going to. Therels been a difficult period in
receiving contracts right now. Later on in the agenda we have
a similar kind of street improvement that only received one
bid. If ve can get the bids in tiMe and l~e can get qoo~ bids,
'"e '''7i II try and get the "york done this year. I f He don't
think we can complete it in this construction season, ~~e
