15

the hearing it takes some time to get all of the names and
addresses.

MR. NEWMAN: I would like to go on record as opposing the
project.

MR. LARRY FALK, 629 Terrace Drive: I'm not on the record as
opposing. I would like to be. You made a comment a few minutes
ago that the Council - after the improvement is in - will come
out and look at the project to see if it's functioning the way
it's supposed to be, is this true?

MAYOR DEMOS: If you come to the hearing - the assessment
hearing -and say it's not.

MR. FALK: Has the Council been out to see that this is a
problem?

MAYOR DEMOS: At this point we go with the drainage maps that
the city has. You may not have a problem in front of your house
and the fellow who has the water up here - it always drains down
and the person with the problem is somewhere else. In this case
the water is draining to Dale Street. Instead of just assessing
those, all of those who contribute water to the project are
considered part of the project unless they come and say their
water no way goes to Dale Street.

MR. FALK: This will be at another hearing?

MAYOR DEMOS: And they are usually in August after the work
is completed.

MR. FALK: I agree with the lady here. I think they do need a
street. It's bad, but at the same time, why should people like
myself that have storm sewers pay for some one else's. I just
don't think that's fair.

MAYOR DEMOS: At this point it's the staff's contention that
you are not served by a storm sewer for your individual property.
That diversion pipe took the water from west of you - from west of
that dot~d line - down there, and takes it across Dale Street.
That was a water diversion project and not another storm sewer
(inaudible) .

MR. FALK: There's a lot of water that~ corning from west
of that dotted line. I don't think it's just the (inaudible)
of us that should have to pay for it because I think we have paid
for it. I think if we check into it we might find that.

MR. ALVIN BERG, 5ll Iona Lane: I'm in favor of the project.
