E~ OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNFSOI'A - HELD February 26, 1979 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, net at the City Hall on llinday, February 26, 1979, at 7:30 P.M. The following rrenbers were present: Mayor rerros, Councilrren Kehr, Franke and Anderson and the following was absent: Councilman Curley. Councilman Anderson introduced the following resolution and noved its adoption: RESOLUI'ICN NO. 6789 RESOLUI'ION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESarA, EXTENDING AN INVITATION 'ID '!HE CITY OF WATERFORD, IRELAND, 'ID BECOME A SISTER CITY AND INVITING THE PEOPlE OF WATERFORD, IRELAND 'ID PARTICIPATE IN SAID P:ooGRAM WHEREAS, THE Sister City Concept was inaugurated by the President of the United States in 1956 to establish greater friendship and understanding between the peoples of the United States and other nations through the rrediurn of direct personal contact, and WHEREAS, all succeeding u. S. Presidents have endorsed said program, to be conducted for the broad purposes of the exchange of ideas and people between the citizens of the united States of Arrerica and the F€oples of other nations, and WHEREAS, to inplerrent this program Roseville, Minnesota and other connn.mities in the United States have been requested by Sister Cities International to affiliate with cities in other nations of similar characteristics and mltual interest, and WHEREAS, the City of Roseville, Minnesota, through its Council, does recognize and endorse this program with the hOF€ that it will lead to a lasting friendship between the people of Roseville, Minnesota and Waterford, Ireland: NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY '!HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOI'A, AS FOI.J.aVS: Section 1. '!hat this Council on behalf of the people of Roseville, Minnesota does hereby extend an invitation to the govern- rrent and the people of the City of Waterford, Ireland to participate
