5

MAYOR DEMOS: What is that property zoned on the south side?

MR. HONCHELL: The easterly portion is zoned, I believe,
industrial. The westerly, I believe, is zoned R-l.

MR. ANDRE: That would mean double assessment for that R-l
for the pipline company.

MAYOR DEMOS: And we have kept it that way as a buffer
(inaudible). If no one else wishes to be heard on this mat t er I
will close the hearing and ask the Council's pleasure. The drive-
way into (inaudible) 2417.

MR. HONcHELL: Yes, but the zoning is R-l.

~AYOR DEMOS: But I guess I question whether anyone would
build on that corner lot with the size - fue configuration.

MR. HONCHELL: The owner of that parcel - I don't know if he's
in the audience, but he talked to us previously. He at least
still has hopes of building on that lot and is happy to see the
utilities extended.

cOUNcIL~mN ANDERSON: This is another one of those areas in
town where we go a long ways between main streets. We go from
County Road C all the way to County Road D along Long Lake Road
without any access in between other than this road and it appears
that this is part of our main road system in that area and although I
don't like the idea of getting it up to standard where we can't keep
large trucks off the road, it appears we should go ahead with the
project and see what we can do to control this kind of situation
afterward. It's like we've got residential property on the south
side of the road but I don't believe I have ever heard of any
attempt to come up with any kind of residential or apartment con-
struction on that side of the road. It appears Williams Bros.
Pipeline are just continuing to hold the land and the only reason
it's zoned residential is because we left it that way to protect
the people across the street.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: I would like to ask that gentleman - you
were talking about car testing.

MR. JACKSON:
that road test fuem
automobile dealers
test, they use the

People that are either buying new or
before they purchase. They come out
and test them there. Whatever there
road for that purpose.

used cars
of the
is to

COUNCILMAN KEHR: Which areas?

MR. JACKSON: From Long Lake Road and they come up to that
intersection - Mack Trucks on one side, White Trucks kitty-corner -
they have a straight shot. Lorg Lake Road comes to a "T" - if you
go west on C-2 it comes to a "T" so there's no cross street and
(inaudible) They don't slow down and you get all of that testing
along that road. They use my driveway frequently - sometimes Mr.
