<br />9 <br /> <br />you'll get your money back. <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN FRANKE: I didn't mean to infer that $295 wasn't a <br />lot of money,but when you begin to look at it as a dollar a <br />month for what you will get it doesn't sound as bad. <br /> <br />FROM THE AUDIENCE: You still have to pay it. Everybody <br />is talking about cutting taxes. <br /> <br />MAYOR DEMOS: I think Roseville has done an excellent job <br />of cutting taxes and we can hold our head up to any area in <br />this Metropolitan area and the economy Roseville has cost us <br />(inaudible) from government state aids. We have had an economic <br />mentality in our state government that says the more you tax, the <br />more MSA money you get. Our taxes are as low as they come for <br />the services we have. You may find lower taxes elsewhere, but <br />you will find there are a lot of services they do not give you. <br /> <br />Councilman Anderson then introduced the following resolution <br />and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 6853 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF IMPROVEMENT NO. ST-P-79-l2 <br />UNDER AND PURSUANT <br />TO MINNESOTA STATUTES, CHAPTER 429 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota <br />Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a <br />public hearing on the proposed construction of Improvement No. <br />ST-P-79-12 generally in the area of Lexington Avenue from Woodhill <br />to 300 feet, more or less, north of Josephine Road, and County <br />Road C-2 from Lexington to Oxford by the installation of <br />bituminous paving, concrete curb and gutter and necessary appur- <br />tenances, and also consisting of storm sewer and necessary ap- <br />purtenances generally in the area bounded by Woodhill on the south, <br />300 feet more or less north of Josephine Road on the north, Griggs <br />Street on the west, and Aglen Avenue on the east, to be con- <br />structed in conjunction with the County of Ramsey, as described <br />in the Notice of Hearing at a cost presently estimated at <br />$406,533.00, of which the City of Roseville's share is estimated <br />to be $222,l30.00, and substantially in accordance with the pre- <br />liminary report as to the feasibility thereof which is now on <br />file in the office of the City Manager; and having considered the <br />views of all interested persons and being fully advised in the <br />premises, the Council does hereby determine and order that said <br />improvement shall be constructed and financed, and special assess- <br />ments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said Chapter 429, <br />and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor shall include <br />
