Department Approval <br />i� �:. � � <br />��� <br />Request for Council Action <br />Manager Approval <br />Date: December 20,2004 <br />Item Number: 3.j <br />Agenda Section <br />Organizational Business <br />Item Description: <br />Advisory Commission Term Expirations and Appointment/Reappointment Process <br />B ackmound: <br />At the December 6 City Council meeting, the Council passed an ordinance and resolution <br />limiting Commissioners to two consecutive, three-year terms and requiring <br />Commissioners to reapply to be considered for reappointment to a second term. Based <br />on these criteria, the Parks and Recreation and the Planning Commissions will each have <br />a vacancy, and six Commissioners must reapply to be considered for reappointment. <br />Staff have contacted the six Commissioners to see if they are interested in a second term. <br />Staff will review the attendance record and contact the Commission Chairs for their <br />feedback on reappointment. <br />The following City Commissioners' terms expire 3/31/O5. <br />Human Ri�hts Commission <br />� Karen Vnuk — eligible for reappointment <br />Larry Voeller — eligible for reappointment <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />Scott Higbee — not eligible for reappointment <br />A1 Sands — eligible for reappointment <br />Plannin� Commission <br />Jim Mulder — not eligible for reappointment <br />Police Civil Service Commission <br />Richard Houck — eligible for reappointment <br />Public Works.
