Roseville Human Rights Commission
Minutes April 13, 2010
Commissioner Yates said they have received enough funding for the event. The HRC is donating
$100; the League of Women Voters is donating $150. Police and Fire are donating in -kind
services; Karen community is donating a translator. Roseville Schools will donate childcare
services since most families will bring their small children. The expenses will be for food and
transportation and possibly some other incidental costs.
Commissioners Kennedy and Yates said they see this as a pilot project and hope to expand to
other diverse groups as time goes on.
Commissioner Yates noted that Acting Police Chief Rick Mathwig, Sarah Mahmud and Carolyn
Curti attended a brown -bag lunch sponsored by her work. He described the constellations as potentially helpful for neighborhoods and
outreach. Using the constellation concept, every home is within one -half mile radius of being
served by some sort of city facility. He emphasized that the constellations are in the draft stage
Commissioners asked whether population statistics are available for the constellations. They
thought this could be used as the commission works on civic engagement.
5. Public Comment
Chair Singleton asked for public comment. Six people, Nancy Niggley, Andrea Wicevic, Jim
Stoffers, Art Stoeberl, Alesia Thompson and Scott Richie, appeared to speak. They came before
