Commissioner Singleton, in his experience as an Explorer and Reserve Officer, concurred with <br />Commissioner Venters saying that things may not be evident to the average citizen as they are to <br />an officer, and he had observed various officer perceptions, areas of interest and individual styles <br />in performing duties. <br />Other <br />Chair Delmore reviewed agenda topics for the next HRC meeting: <br />Community Dialogue/Diversity Forum <br />Civilian Review Board for the Police Department <br />City Manager Malinen noted that staff was moving forward with Roseville University, an eight <br />week program to reach out to the community and familiarize residents with local government <br />and encourage involvement in the community. <br />Chair Delmore advised that she had received a request from Roseville resident Al Sands that <br />HRC meetings be broadcast. <br />Commissioners asked City Manager Malinen to research the potential of broadcasting the <br />meetings. <br />Commissioner McKenzie provided a historical perspective for not broadcasting meetings in the <br />past due to sensitive discussions when residents were involved and their preference for privacy. <br />Commissioner Singleton said the HRC could go into executive session for issues of a sensitive <br />nature and then reconvene into a public forum. <br />Commissioner Venters received approval to proceed with discussions of a proposed rental <br />housing /landlord discrimination ordinance between himself and City Manager Malinen. <br />Adjournment <br />Commissioner McKenzie moved and Commissioner McGehee seconded adjournment of the <br />meeting at 8:07 p.m. Motion carried 7/0. <br />
