City Manager Malinen noted, his support for the HRC revisiting neighborhood outreach opportunities, as recommended during the Imagine Roseville 2025 community visioning process, to provide positive opportunities for neighborhood connections and communication; creation of "community;" and his vision of the HRC facilitating that connectivity. McGehee moved to review the proposed Strategic Plan and Initiatives for consideration and further discussion at the January meeting. Following additional discussion, Commissioner McGehee withdrew her motion. Chair Singleton assured Commissioners that their approval of the proposed Plan and Initiatives was not serving as final document, but would be dynamic and available for revision. Additional discussion included adding the Essay Contest to the Outreach portion of the Plan and consideration of a youth representative on the HRC. McKenzie moved, McGehee seconded, accepting the Strategic Plan and Commission Initiatives for 2009, as presented as a work in progress. All Ayes; motion carried. Announcements Commissioner Venters said he planned to resign from the HRC, anticipating that January may be his last meeting. City Manager Malinen was asked to review and report on terms for all Commissioners by the January 2009 meeting. City Manager Malinen provided, as a bench handout a copy of the 2009 HRC meeting schedule, with most meetings scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month, excepting those noted. For planning purposes and invitations, Commissioners asked that City Manager Malinen advise them at his earliest convenience of the City Council meeting when the Essay Contest winners would be announced and recognized, typically the last City Council meeting during the month of February. Adjournment Chair Singleton adjourned the meeting at 8:25 p.m. Chair Singleton recognized outgoing Chair Janet Delmore and thanked her for her service as HRC Chair; Commissioners expressed their appreciation.
