REQUEST FOR HRA ACTION <br />Date: 5-18-10 <br />Item No: 9 d. <br />Staff Approval: Agenda Section <br /> <br />Action Items <br />Item Description: Living Smarter Marketing Campaign (HF0091) <br />Background <br />One of the 2010 RHRA work plan goals was to begin the process of promoting Roseville’s <br />neighborhoods and housing as “Living Smarter”. In order to accomplish this goal the board had <br />dedicated $40,000 for this campaign. <br />On April 23, 2010 the RHRA requested proposals from qualified firms or individuals for the <br />development and completion of a Marketing Campaign for the Roseville Housing and <br />Redevelopment Authority (attached RFP). The RFP was put on the City’s web page along with <br />advertising in the Minnesota National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials and <br />the League of Minnesota Cities. The deadline for submitting proposals was May 7, 2010 by 12 <br />noon. <br />Staff received three proposals. Based upon review of all of the proposals one of the proposers <br />was not interviewed because they failed to respond directly to the information required by the <br />RFP. <br />thth <br />On May 11 and May 12 both candidates where interviewed by staff and board member Bill <br />Masche. Based upon those interviews and their submitted proposal the group is recommending <br />that the RHRA hire George Hornik. Mr. Hornik will be at the meeting to formally present his <br />proposal to the RHRA board. <br />Staff Recommendation <br />Staff is recommending that the RHRA hire Mr. Hornik based upon his proposal for a cost to not <br />exceed $40,000. <br />HRA Action <br />Motion to hire Mr. Hornik and authorize staff to enter into a contract for amount not to exceed <br />$40,000. <br />Attachment: A: RFP for Creation and Implementation of Living Smarter Marketing Campaign <br /> B: George Hornik proposal. <br />Prepared by: Jeanne Kelsey (651-792-7086) <br />Living Smarter Marketing Campaign (05-18-10) -Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br />
