EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA, HELD D~ER 17 1979 * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minne- sota, was duly called and held at the City Hall in said City on the l7thday of Decenber , 1979, at 7:30 o'clock p.m.- The following members were present: Mayor Derros, Councilmen Anderson, Franke, Kehr and Curley and the following members were absent: None Member Curley introduced the follow- ing resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 6909 WHEREAS, the City of Roseville has been purchasing Workmen's Compensation Insurance for years prior to 1979 and through December 31, 1979; and WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed and believes that the insurance to pay claims arising under Minn. Stat. Chapter 176 (Workmen's Compensation) will re- quire an expenditure of approximately $100,000.00; and WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to become self-insured for claims arising under Minn. Stat. Chapter 176, except for disasters which expose the City to liability in excess of $300,000.00 for one occurrence; and WHEREAS, The City Council deeems it prudent to establish a fund to pay workmen's compensation claims and it will be the policy of the City in the future to continue to pay into said fund the approximate amount of the work- men's compensation insurance premium. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE, MINNESOTA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. The Manager is directed to terminate effective January 1, 1980, all workmen's compensation insurance policies which would pay claims under Minn. Stat. Chapter 176 arising after said date. 2.
