HRA Meeting <br />Minutes – Tuesday, January 19, 2010 <br />Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />Chair: Dean Maschka <br />  <br />Vice Chair: Bill Majerus <br /> <br /> <br />Secretary: Kelly Quam <br />  <br />Executive Director: Patrick Trudgeon <br /> <br /> <br />Ayes: 4 <br /> <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />b.2010 RHRA Work Plan <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon reviewed the proposed RHRA 2010 Work Plan by item, highlighting areas of <br /> <br />  <br />interest and noting that each respective item was highlighted as to their status (i.e., ongoing, <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />pending, proposed) and were in no particular priority order at this time and would be refined in <br /> <br />  <br />the future. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Discussion of Members included recognizing the role of the HRA in the Parks and Recreation <br /> <br /> <br />Master Plan process and development, with staff noting that both he and Housing Coordinator <br /> <br /> <br />Kelsey were involved in the Technical Advisory Team mentioned by Mr. Brokke and that they <br /> <br /> <br />would be providing periodic updates, as well as seeking input from HRA Members at their <br /> <br /> <br />preference at any time. Further discussion included several potential future parkland areas, <br /> <br /> <br />including the Fairview Community Center and Owasso School site that could become a park or <br />  <br />combination project of tomes type; and including information on the MHFA loan program <br /> <br /> <br />information in the HRA section of the upcoming City newsletter. <br />  <br />  <br />Member Quam noted the need to include a category for affordable daycare options in the <br />  <br />community for young families, to include that information as a real asset in the community. <br />  <br />  <br />Mr. Trudgeon duly noted that suggestion. <br />  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Motion: Member Majerus moved, seconded by Member Masche approved the 2010 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RHRA Work Plan (HF0090) as presented. <br /> <br />  <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Ayes: 4 <br /> <br />  <br />Nays: 0 <br /> <br /> <br />Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Trudgeon advised that staff would provide a quarterly update on the 2010 Work Plan in <br /> <br /> <br />the future. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />10.Information Reports & Other Business (Verbal Reports by Staff and Board Members): <br /> <br /> <br />  <br />a.Discuss Home and Garden Fair <br /> <br /> <br />In the absence of Housing Coordinator Kelsey, Mr. Trudgeon presented a synopsis of the <br />  <br />upcoming Living Smarter Home and Garden Fair, scheduled for Saturday, February 20, 2010 <br />  <br />from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fairview Community Center. Mr. Trudgeon advised that <br />  <br />this free event was well-accepted last year, and anticipated greater interest this year; and <br />  <br />provided brief information on sponsors, vendors, and information/presentations/workshops <br />  <br /> for <br />available at this year’s fair. Mr. Trudgeon referred the public to www.livingsmarter.org <br />  <br />more detailed information, a list of the great opportunities and ideas available. Mr. Trudgeon <br /> <br /> <br />identified this year’s sponsors, who make the event possible; confirmed that the event was very <br /> <br /> <br />family-oriented with specific activities and prizes available in the Kid Zone; and noted that the <br />  <br />event was committed to exceeding last year’s 96 – 97% zero waste event in keeping with the <br /> <br /> <br />green and sustainability emphasis. <br />  <br /> <br />
