Community Development Department

651-792-7005fax: 651-792-7070

April 24, 2006
Dear Roseville property owner,
You’re no doubt aware that the City of Roseville is preparing to rebuild a major section of South
Owasso Boulevard. This construction project is raising some code-compliance issues that would
otherwise remain dormant. Specifically, several driveways that were built prior to the adoption
of the current code requirements are closer to their side property lines than the code now allows.
In light of the regulatory changes that were made since these lots were improved, some property
owners have applied for Setback Permits which would return these properties to proper legal
standing. These Setback Permit applications request that the driveways remain in the same
no location changes are proposed
locations; essentially for the driveways in question. Rather,
the Setback Permits are simply an administrative effort to clear up problems created through no
fault of the property owners.
The South Owasso Boulevard addresses for which Setback Permit applications have been
received are as follows:
164 375 433
215 385 585
363 389 625
367 423 2996 Marion Street
Roseville Development Review
You are cordially invited to attend and participate in the
th
Committee’s (DRC) Setback Permit Hearing on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in
the Roseville City Hall Aspen Room –
adjacent to the Community Development Department.
The Setback Permit process allows nearby property owners the opportunity to comment on the
proposal in writing (i.e., letter or email) and/or at the above mentioned meeting. Should you
have any comments or questions about particular Setback Permit applications for a property near
Thursday, May
you, we would encourage you to attend the DRC’s Administrative Hearing on
th
4, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Aspen Room
. Please feel free to call me at 651-792-7073 or email
me at bryan.lloyd@ci.roseville.mn.us, or you can reach Thomas Paschke, City Planner, at 651-
792-7074 or at thomas.paschke@ci.roseville.mn.us.
If you wish to appeal the decision of the DRC, you have ten (10) days to file an appeal by
sending a letter to the City Manager, after which the Variance Board will establish a hearing date
for the appeal.
Best regards,

City of Roseville

Bryan Lloyd
Associate Planner
