6

the first surface. He said you have a road in good condition
and with no deterioration. That was put in in the late 1960's.
Is it worth the price now? I know you have mentioned about
accidents and children in the streets. We have the same
problem on Western, and it's a speedway. On Cohansey there's a
minimum amount of traffic. The cars come from Cohansey, but
also come from County Road C, and being it's a two-block long
street there is not a lot of traffic. The school busses perhaps
and once a week disposal trucks and the milk truck several
times a week, but accidents were mentioned. I don't know if
there has ever been an accident on Oakcrest to my knowledge.

Now, the plan is that we will be one foot closer to the
street so that makes it closer than lO feet - whatever the
boulevard area is. It was mentioned we pay the 25%. The 75%
comes from the general fund. All right, would you consider
paying taxes for a road that's good? I wouldn't, and I don't think
the other Roseville residents would care to pay for a good road
either. Their tax dollars are too important.

My husband approached several of the people last fall about
the road, and one said he'd go along with it but he really
didn't care for it, and another said the blacktopping on my
road is pretty bad and it must be replaced so I might as well let
Roseville do it. One man couldn't come because he's working, and
he asked us to voice his disapproval.

The $8.75 figure I know we have, but how do we know with
inflation and now that we've heard about the interest charges,
how do we know what it will cost? Could it be $10 or $ll?

Before the Council passes "yes"
drive up Oakcrest and see if we need
instead of my husband because he has
and when he says something, he means
me.

or "no", would
another road.
a pretty sharp
it. Thank you

you please
I'm speaking
tongue
for hearing

MR. ROBERT STADY, 444 Oakcrest: That's the corner of
Cohansey and Oakcrest. The signers of this petition have been
contacted again and still are in favor of it. The road at the
other end near Western is probably in better shape than the
road is at Cohansey and Oakcrest. That road started out about
three or four years ago with small holes in it. They are now
about the size of an automobile tire, and each year they grow.
Maintenance comes out and fills the holes and does an adequate
job, but each year it's a bigger hole because the existing tar
is being knocked out. The road is a hazzard, and I have to
agree with the other speaker. I do not believe there has been
an accident because I think it's a miracle the way they come
down the hill and (inaudible) sliding into Cohansey. Cohansey
is a well-traveled street. Thank you for your time.

MR. JERRY KIDD, 436 Oakcrest: I'm the second house up
