7

from Cohansey and Oakcrest. I would like to speak in favor
of the improvement. Using this street all the time to enter
Cohansey, I can testify to the extent of the dangerousness of
coming out of a very steep incline on to Cohansey with a short
entrance level. It's dangerous. Anything that can be done
to improve it, I feel, is well worth the taxpayer's money.

MR. ROY ZAVER, 426 Oakcrest: The two points - most of the
people have already made is that - I do have a concern, and have
had since I moved there and I have lived there l3 years, a factor
that there have been near accidents with kids, and I believe
particularly at the upper part where the visibility coming down
is a problem. I hate to see it be the case where we do some-
thing about it after someone gets injured. The other point I want
to make is I feel that we're going to do something about the
street problem sometime during the next five years, and I hate
to see what the cost will be then based on what we talk about
inflation rates. I'd rather see it done now, and get a good
solid street there.

MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else?
and ask for the Council action.
on Western?

If not, I will close the hearing
Does Peterson's driveway come

MRS. PETERSON: Yes.

MAYOR DEMOS: And you have a hill on Oakcrest?

MRS. PETERSON: Yes.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: Mr. Honchell, have you investigated
the street? Is it in good shape or is it a permanent street
that we're re-doing?

MR. HONCHELL: I would have to say, if I were to judge
all the streets in Roseville, this one is around the middle as
far as adequacy. It is not what I call a bad street in com-
parison with others, and I have seen some that are better.
It is not a street that is going to be turned into gravel
(inaudible) in the next two or three years.

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: Eventually it will have to be re-done
anyway.

MR. HONCHELL: It's each person's view - how long.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: I would like to ask a question. You state
in your presentation, on the north side there are homes that are
sitting up high, and the driveways are steep.

MR. HONCHELL: That is correct.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: How are the homes on the south side of the
street? What's the terrain there? Is that level, or low, or
what?

MR. HONCHELL: It's still in relatively a high location in
