16

DR. HILGEDICK: DO the best you can.

COUNCILMAN ANDERSON: I feel having a street with no
parking on either side is not too good. I wouldn't go for
that, so it means I would go for the 36 foot width with
no parking on one side of the street. I feel that something
has to be done to the road. There's no question about it
and having listened to all the reasons that have been giv~n
here I c~n see where if the condition is what they talk about
on trafflc, about the school children crossing and the
various meandering through the lots there, I think that's
something that would have to be solved with or without a new
street.

COUNCILMAN ANDERSON then introduced the following resolu-
tion and moved its adoption:

Resolution No. 6939

RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF IMPROVEMENT NO. P-79-2
UNDER AND PURSUANT TO
MINNESOTA STATUTES, CHAPTER 429

BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville,
Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota
Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a
public hearing on the proposed construction of Improvement No.
P-79-2 consisting of the installation of bituminous paving,
concrete curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances, and
sanitary sewer replacement on Skillman Avenue from Fairview
Avenue, east to Snelling Avenue, as described in the Notice
of Hearing at a cost presently estimated at $420,000, and
substantially in accordance with the preliminary report
as to the feasibility thereof which is now on file in the ,
office of the City Manager; and having considered the views
of all interested persons and being fully advised in the premises,
the Council does hereby determine and order that said improve-
ment shall be constructed and financed, and special assess-
ments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said Chapter 429,
and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor shall
include the property as described in the Notice of Hearing.
The City Public Works Director is directed to prepare and
submit to theCouncil the final plans and specifications.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City administration seek
neighborhood input in studying the feasibility of a parallel
pathway, and in conducting post construction traffic control
study; and further in accordance with MSA standards parking
shall be prohibited on one side of the roadway.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution

was duly seconded by Councilman Kehr, and upon roll call
