<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE ROSEVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL - HELD MAY 12, 1980 <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Rosevi11e, Ramsey County, Minnesota, <br />was duly held at the City Hall on Monday, May 12, 1980, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mayor Demos, <br />Councilmen Kehr, Franke, Curley and Anderson <br /> <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Member Kehr <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 6950 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Rosevi11e City Council adopted Resolution <br />No. 6112 on June 24, 1974 and Resolution No. 6636 on April 10, 1978, <br />regarding the appointment procedures to Advisory Boards, Commissions <br />and Committees; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council wishes to alter the appointment <br /> <br />procedure; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolutions Nos. 6112 <br />and 6636 hereby are recinded. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council adopt the following <br />resolution as a statement of policy in regard to the above named <br />procedure. <br /> <br />One hundred and twenty (120) days prior to expiration <br />of a term on any Rosevi11e Board, Commission or Committee, the Council <br />shall be advised of the pending vacancy and the attendance record of <br />the individual whose term is expiring should that individual be eligible <br />for reappointment. At that time the Council will consider the re- <br />appointment of that individual. Should the Council determine that the <br />individual merits reappointment that person will be contacted to deter- <br />mine if he/she wishes to seek reappointment. If the incumbent does seek <br />reappointment, the Council will consider that reappointment at the first <br />regular Council meeting after ninety (90) days prior to the expiration <br />of the term. Should the incumbent not wish to be reappointed or should <br />the Council determine that the individual does not merit reappointment, <br />the Council will announce the vacancy and that applications will be <br />accepted from all interested citizens of Rosevi11e ninety (90) days <br />prior to the expiration of the term. The appointment will then be made <br />at the first regular Council meeting after thirty (30) days prior to <br />the expiration of the term. <br />
