10

MR. NOVAK: What point are we at?

MR. HONCHELL: We can't schedule this until we know all of
the projects that will be done and schedule the manpower and
put these in contract groups. We anticipate it to be a 1981 con-
struction job and want to get it in the construction season.

MR. NOVAK: How long will this project take?

REPRESENTATIVE FROM SHORT OFFICE: It would basically take
the full summer. That doesn't mean it will be torn up that period
of time, but by the time you get your sod and seeding you're
looking at early fall.

MR. NOVAK: And we always have access to our property?

REPRESENTATIVE FROM SHORT OFFICE: You would have access
99% of the time. There would be periods when you could not
(inaudible) when they're paving.

l1R. NOVAK: We'd have to park a block over.

REPRESENTATIVE FROM SHORT OFFICE: I think you would be able
to park somewhere in the street if you get out there early enough
when they start up their machines that you're out of their way.

MR. HONCHELL: Certainly it's the intent that for almost the
entire period of construction you'd be able to get in and out of
your driveways. When we're putting the curb and gutter and
driveways in you have to wait for the concrete to cure, but other
than those periods we would attempt to have the contractor work
with you so each night he would put the road back in shape and
put your driveways in shape. We can't guarantee that every night
and every day because some construction has to interfere, but we
would want to minimize that.

~m. NOVAK: Do you have some kind of plan where we could see
the utilities? You mentioned that you don't think utilities
will be a problem. I mean power and telephone, if they're a problem,
who gets assessed for that?

~ffi. HONCHELL: By putting their facilities in our right-of-way
they have to agree to relocate them when improvements are ordered
by the Council at no cost to the city and the abutting property
owners.

MR. NOVAK: Is there a possibility they can go underground?

l-m. HONCHELL :
only happen if the
those costs. It's
bill.

Not as part of the NSP project. That could
neighborhood petition in NSP to bury and would pay
a buriel cost and a cost every month on your

MR. NOVAK: I don't see the poles (inaudible) and the property
adjacent to me they have to be moved.
