MAYOR DEMOS: I think they're reasonably correct.

MR. WALTER RIHM: I mean, I'm not trying to be facetious
about it, but somebody said $17,000 or $20,000.

MAYOR DEMOS: Oh, those figures. I'm not so sure about
tho s e .

MR. WALTER RIHM: I have to report back to our legal ad-
visor, who is secretary of our company, and I just don't want to
be writing him a letter and possibly I can come back tomorrow
and get them through the engineering department and maybe give
him a reasonably accurate answer.

MAYOR DEMOS: Could that be worked out?

MR. HONCHELL: Yes, that's not a major problem.

MR. WALTER RIHM: But then the thought comes to my mind,
you folks can't take a bid on this until everything is done.

MAYOR DEMOS: That's exactly right.

MR. WALTER RIHM: The way contractors are, like in my busi-
ness, everything is escalating and, good Lord, that might come
in at twice what we're talking about. Shame on me.

COUNCIL~ffiN KEHR: Would you accept a figure, Mr. Rihm
(inaudible) figures we were tossing around here, if we're within
a plus or minus of 5% of the figures that were tossed around
here. Would that be acceptable to you?

MR. WALTER RIHM: It's true I'm president of the company,
but it is a corporation and there are other people to be con-
sidered. Frankly, I don't think I'm capable of giving the answer
that you would like to have. But it sounds, I'd say, reasonable.
Again, I'm kind of wishy-washy.

COUNCILMAN KEHR: (Inaudible) say we go ahead on this basis
tonight and within the next day or so, preferably tomorrow,
you get together with Mr. Honchell and pin down these figures
to a more accurate dollar value.

MR. WALTER RIHM: In other words, whatever you people
decide, then I have to go back to my people and say this is
to cost approximately "X" number of dollars, give or take.
guess that's about all I can say on it.

going
I

MAYOR DEMOS: The only thing you would be liable for is the
storm drainage and it seems to me (inaudible) figure of $20,000,
you used the figure of $310,000, that's only 6% of that $310,000,
I'd say that's pretty good.

MR. vJALTER RIHM: Before we go, I mean, let's say that's
the route that was ele.cted on. The reason that we bought that

19
