7) RITA Mix
3207 Old Highway 8 E-mail: rlmix @msn.com
Cover Letter: Yes, I realized it was a copy/paste and I won't hold it against
you! It has been a busy Easter weekend for me with out-of-town company and
grandkids here. I apologize for dragging my feet on returning the application.
It the end it didn't take very long. I will see you at the meeting tomorrow
night
Why are you interested in serving on a city Task Force exploring civic
engagement in Roseville?
I was recently engaged with 50 or 60 of my neighbors in opposing a change in
zoning. It turned out that the city has a plan for our neighborhood and they are
sticking with it! Residents' concerns were trivialized. Where were we when the
Comprehensive Plan was made? For many of my neighbors it was their first
experience with community engagement and will probably be their last. I want
to help fix whatever it is that's wrong so that, instead of feeling embattled,
neighborhoods can feel empowered.
Describe your current and past experience in civic engagement issues and
efforts, including but not limited to your community involvement in Roseville.
Besides the involvement above, I was in the Roseville League of Women Voters in
the 1970's where I chaired study committees and published the newsletter. I
participated in the recent Roseville Parks groups and have been the president of
Woods Edge Homeowners Association since 2005.
Summarize special skills and qualifications you have acquired from
employment or previous community work which may be useful in the Task
Force's work.
I have a Master's degree in Public Health and worked for 30 years as a Public
Health Nutritionist and Certified Diabetes Educator. I am interested in
developing environmentally healthy neighborhoods where people are supported
through all stages of life. I also have particular skill in working with elderly,
disabled and those with chronic diseases.
8) FRANCY REITZ
2009 Aldine St E-mail: reitz4mail @aol.com
Cover Letter: Here it is. I hope you can open and read it. If not, let me know
and I'll get a hard copy to you. Also, a very special thanks to you for your role
Program Planning Committee Report to the May 10. 2011, Roseville Human Rights Commission 14 -
Meeting
