Business Items <br /> 97 <br /> 98 5a. Amendment(s) to By-laws <br /> 99 <br /> 100 Chair Singleton said he has established an Internal Affairs Subcommittee, including Commissioner <br /> 101 Brisbois, Commissioner Grefenberg and himself as well as Alex Smith. <br /> 102 <br /> 103 Commissioners asked for more information about Mr. Smith. Chair Singleton said Mr. Smith has <br /> 104 worked in government affairs and public housing. He is not a Roseville resident but would work as <br /> 105 a consultant. <br /> 106 <br /> 107 The subcommittee will review rules and procedures and make recommendations on such things as <br /> 108 youth commissioner voting rights. <br /> 109 <br /> 110 5b. New Membership Orientation <br /> 111 <br /> 112 Chair Singleton said he and Commissioner Grefenberg would conduct new member orientation <br /> 113 within two weeks. He would notify the commission of the date and encouraged the youth <br /> 114 commissioners to attend. Commissioner Grefenberg encouraged Commissioner McKenzie to attend <br /> 115 the training since she has many years of experience working on the Commission <br /> 116 <br /> 117 5c. LMHRC update <br /> 118 <br /> 119 Commissioner McKenzie is the Roseville area representative to the League of Minnesota Human <br /> 120 Rights Commissions (LMHRC). The LMHRC meets monthly at various locations,providing <br /> 121 information sharing and networking opportunities. Commissioner McKenzie briefed others about <br /> 122 her attendance at their most recent meeting. The host community provides information about their <br /> 123 human rights efforts. <br /> 124 <br /> 125 Last month's meeting was hosted by the St. Paul Human Rights Commission. They talked about <br /> 126 their efforts to help minorities to become firefighters and EMS workers. <br /> 127 <br /> 128 6. Public Comment <br /> 129 <br /> 130 No one appeared to comment. <br /> 131 <br /> 132 7. Future Agenda Items <br /> 133 <br /> 134 Commissioner Barrett asked if he should invite the DANG group to the next meeting, but Chair <br /> 135 Singleton asked that he wait until they have a better understanding of the groups. <br /> 136 <br />
