Commissioners thanked Commissioner Barrett for his work on this effort. 5. Business Items 5a. Amendment(s) to By -laws Chair Singleton said he has established an Internal Affairs Subcommittee, including Commissioner Brisbois, Commissioner Grefenberg and himself as well as Alex Smith. Commissioners asked for more information about Mr. Smith. Chair Singleton said Mr. Smith has worked in government affairs and public housing. He is not a Roseville resident but would work as a consultant. The subcommittee will review rules and procedures and make recommendations on such things as youth commissioner voting rights. 5b. New Membership Orientation Chair Singleton said he and Commissioner Grefenberg would conduct new member orientation within two weeks. He would notify the commission of the date and encouraged the youth commissioners to attend. Commissioner Grefenberg encouraged Commissioner McKenzie to attend the training since she has many years of experience working on the Commission 5c. LMHRC update Commissioner McKenzie is the Roseville area representative to the League of Minnesota Human Rights Commissions LMHRC). The LMHRC meets monthly at various locations, providing information sharing and networking opportunities. Commissioner McKenzie briefed others about her attendance at their most recent meeting. The host community provides information about their human rights efforts. Last month's meeting was hosted by the St. Paul Human Rights Commission. They talked about their efforts to help minorities to become firefighters and EMS workers. 6. Public Comment No one appeared to comment. 7. Future Agenda Items Commissioner Barrett asked if he should invite the DANG group to the next meeting, but Chair Singleton asked that he wait until they have a better understanding of the groups.
