Business Items <br />5a. Amendment(s) to By -laws <br />Chair Singleton said he has established an Internal Affairs Subcommittee, including Commissioner <br />Brisbois, Commissioner Grefenberg and himself as well as Alex Smith. <br />Commissioners asked for more information about Mr. Smith. Chair Singleton said Mr. Smith has <br />worked in government affairs and public housing. He is not a Roseville resident but would work as <br />a consultant. <br />The subcommittee will review rules and procedures and make recommendations on such things as <br />youth commissioner voting rights. <br />5b. New Membership Orientation <br />Chair Singleton said he and Commissioner Grefenberg would conduct new member orientation <br />within two weeks. He would notify the commission of the date and encouraged the youth <br />commissioners to attend. Commissioner Grefenberg encouraged Commissioner McKenzie to attend <br />the training since she has many years of experience working on the Commission <br />5c. LMHRC update <br />Commissioner McKenzie is the Roseville area representative to the League of Minnesota Human <br />Rights Commissions LMHRC). The LMHRC meets monthly at various locations, providing <br />information sharing and networking opportunities. Commissioner McKenzie briefed others about <br />her attendance at their most recent meeting. The host community provides information about their <br />human rights efforts. <br />Last month's meeting was hosted by the St. Paul Human Rights Commission. They talked about <br />their efforts to help minorities to become firefighters and EMS workers. <br />6. Public Comment <br />No one appeared to comment. <br />7. Future Agenda Items <br />Commissioner Barrett asked if he should invite the DANG group to the next meeting, but Chair <br />Singleton asked that he wait until they have a better understanding of the groups. <br />
