COUNCILMAN CURLEY: If this keeps going the way it's been going, at 25% to 35% less than what the estimate was, there would certainly be more than enough to take care of any storm sewers for homes (inaudible). It wouldn't enlarge the $10.00 figure. MR. HONCHELL: That's what, I guess, I've been trying to say. If we get the bids we're hopeful of, then in fact the total will still be of relevance to what we've been talking about. Or the improvements may not prove to be that expensive. +n which case we're still in the general ballpark we're talking about today. I can't really answer you because I don't know - we would have to do an estimate to say what those are. To do that, we would have to do some surveying and talk to the owners. MAYOR DEMOS: To make that a little more specific - if a bid comes in at 25% over estimate, we are required by law to have another hearing (inaudible). In other words . . . COUNCILMAN KEHR: With the lack of activity in the industry, the entire construction industry, I feel rather-oonfident that these protected costs - when the actual costs are put together - that they will be less than the estimates. COUNCILMAN CURLEY then introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Resolution No. 7166 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENT NO. P-81-4 UNDER AND PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES, CHAPTER 429 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a public 'hearing on the proposed construction of Improvement No. P-81-4 consisting of the installation of bituminous paving, concrete curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances on Fernwood Street from Woodhill Drive to County Road C-2 and on Judith from Fernwood Street to Merrill Street, as described in the Notice of Hearing at a cost presently estimated at $151,050.00, and substantially in accordance with the preliminary report as to the feasibility thereof which is now on file in the office of the City Manager; and having considered the views of all interested persons and being fully advised in the premises, the Council does hereby determine and order that said improvement shall be constructed and financed, and special assessments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said Chapter 429, and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor shall include the property as described in the Notice of Hearing. The City Public Works Director is directed to prepare and submit to the Council the final plans and speci- fications.
