MR. HONCHELL: The length of these particular blocks, which normally aren't even 700 feet long - I guess the longest one (inaudible) Terrace might be in that neighborhood. If you have a drop of say three and a half feet in 700 feet, that's a half per- cent grade, as we call it. In other words, you go down half a foot for every 100 feet. That is (inaudible) in many parts of the City. Certainly you do have to have some grade changes, but you don't even necessarily have to have it all go in one direction. It's possible to have low points or high points in a block and create your own grade, if you want to call it that. No, I guess I would not agree that you necessarily need seven feet of drop in these types of configurations in order to get reasonable drainage. MAYOR DEMOS: Anyone else on Merrill Street? After discussion by the Council, Councilman Curley introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Resolution No. 7167 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENT NO. P-8l-7 UNDER AND PURSUANT TO MINNESOTA STATUTES, CHAPTER 429 BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a public hearing on the proposed construction of Improvement No. P-8l-7 consisting of the installation of bituminous paving, concrete curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances on Merrill Street from Woodhill Drive to County Road C-2 and on Judith Avenue from Merrill Street to Dellwood Street and on Terrace Drive from Merrill Street to Dellwood Street, as described in the Notice of Hearing at a cost presently estimated at $178,950.00, and substantially in accordance with the preliminary report as to the feasibility there- of which is now on file in the office of the City Manager; and having considered the views of all interested persons and being fully advised in the premises, the Council does hereby determine and Grder that said improvement shall be constructed and financed, and special assessments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to said Chapter 429, and that the area proposed to be assessed therefor shall include the property as described in the Notice of Hearing. The City Public Works Director is directed to prepare and submit to the Council the 'final plans and specifications.
