Consider Appointment to Grass Lakes Water Management Organization <br /> Board <br /> Willmus moved, Johnson seconded, appointment of Steve Barrett to fill the va- <br /> cancy on the GLWMO Board for the remainder of a three-year term to expire on <br /> December 31, 2012. <br /> Councilmember McGehee moved a substitute motion to appoint Rebecca Galkie- <br /> wicz to the Board. <br /> Mayor Roe declared the motion failed due to lack of a second. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Johnson; Willmus; and Roe. <br /> Nays: McGehee. <br /> Abstention: Pust. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> Councilmember Johnson thanked all applicants to the vacancy. <br /> Councilmember McGehee questioned why this appointment process was different <br /> than other processes with individual Councilmember rankings; opining that it ap- <br /> peared that there was some discussion prior to the meeting by some Council- <br /> members on the appointment. <br /> Mayor Roe recognized Councilmember McGehee's point; and suggested that the <br /> council should be more consistent in that regard in the future. <br /> c. Consider Meritex Preliminary/Final Plat at 2280 Walnut Street and Request <br /> by AirGas North Central for Conditional Use for Outdoor Storage of Bulk <br /> Gas Cylinders <br /> City Planner Thomas Paschke briefly reviewed request as detailed in the RCA <br /> dated May 9, 2011; and unanimous recommendation of the Planning Commission <br /> at their April 2011 meeting. <br />
