Strommen
Date Received: April 25, 2011
Question:
Reference;Judy M. Poferl Direct Testimony, pp. 10 1.17 — 11 1.2
Please state whether and why Xcel agrees or disagrees with the assertion that power
outages to customers residing in the Brenner and Millwood Avenue intersection in the
City of Roseville has been, and continues to be, a problem for Xcel.
Response:
Please see our response to SRA Information Request No. 3,in which we explain the
corrective actions taken over the past several years to address outage-related concerns
in the Brenner and Millwood Avenue area. Furthermore,we have reviewed the
reliability performance in this area, and it does not suggest an abnormal equipment
situation or problem which requires action at this time.
We continually monitor outage information and trends for all areas across our service
territory to determine equipment replacement and maintenance strategies, in addition
to other programs such as vegetation management. To the extent that issues are
identified during 2011 or in the future, a similar process to that utilized across our
service territory will be followed to identify and prioritize the necessary equipment
replacement or maintenance.
We look forward to continuing to work with Roseville customers, and customers
throughout our system to provide reliable service at reasonable costs and to address
specific equipment and environmental concerns (i.e. vegetation management) as issues
arise.
