Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,April 25,2011 <br /> Page 5 <br /> Councilmember McGehee noted that most shared resources seemed to be centered <br /> on the City's Police and Informational Technologies departments or had actual re- <br /> sources supplied through Joint Powers Agreements (JPA's). Councilmember <br /> McGehee expressed her interest, particularly in today's economy, that staff pursue <br /> additional cooperative efforts and ideas with other communities to save further re- <br /> sources. As an example, Councilmember McGehee reiterated her previous re- <br /> search with the City of St. Louis Park and their work to-date in designing a new <br /> fire station. Councilmember McGehee advised that she had personally checked <br /> with their primary planner on the project, who expressed their willingness to share <br /> their preparatory Request for Proposals (RFP) work and preliminary design ef- <br /> forts with the City of Roseville. Councilmember McGehee stated that she strong- <br /> ly encouraged that the City seek out more of those types of collaborative efforts. <br /> Mayor Roe noted that staff had duly noted Councilmember McGehee's sugges- <br /> tions. <br /> McGehee moved, Willmus seconded, receipt of the periodic update of shared ser- <br /> vices with local governments and agencies to realize resource efficiencies, as de- <br /> tailed in the RCA dated April 25, 2011, for the City of Roseville to provide <br /> recreation program/services. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; McGehee; Johnson; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 9. General Ordinances for Adoption <br /> 10. Presentations <br /> a. Ramsey County Commissioner Jan Parker <br /> Mayor Roe welcomed Ramsey County Commissioner Jan Parker who provided a <br /> highlight of Ramsey County activities and reviewed various topics of mutual in- <br /> terest. Commissioner Parker and her assistant distributed an informational packet <br /> to the City Council, staff and public in attendance; and offered her willingness to <br /> attend any meetings with the City Council at their request. <br /> Commissioner Parker noted that the informational packet included Ramsey Coun- <br /> ty initiatives, as well as several items she would highlight during tonight's brief <br /> presentation. <br /> Commissioner Parker reviewed current Ramsey County budget considerations, in <br /> their second year of their two-year cycle, under an initial suggested exercise for <br /> all departments to cut their respective 2012 and 2013 budgets by 6% annually. <br /> Commissioner Parker highlighted the state legislative situation and ongoing dis- <br /> cussions, and the relationship between the state and federal funding and property <br />
