Regular City Council Meeting Monday,April 25,2011 Page 5 Councilmember McGehee noted that most shared resources seemed to be centered on the City's Police and Informational Technologies departments or had actual re- sources supplied through Joint Powers Agreements (JPA's). Councilmember McGehee expressed her interest, particularly in today's economy, that staff pursue additional cooperative efforts and ideas with other communities to save further re- sources. As an example, Councilmember McGehee reiterated her previous re- search with the City of St. Louis Park and their work to-date in designing a new fire station. Councilmember McGehee advised that she had personally checked with their primary planner on the project, who expressed their willingness to share their preparatory Request for Proposals (RFP) work and preliminary design ef- forts with the City of Roseville. Councilmember McGehee stated that she strong- ly encouraged that the City seek out more of those types of collaborative efforts. Mayor Roe noted that staff had duly noted Councilmember McGehee's sugges- tions. McGehee moved, Willmus seconded, receipt of the periodic update of shared ser- vices with local governments and agencies to realize resource efficiencies, as de- tailed in the RCA dated April 25, 2011, for the City of Roseville to provide recreation program/services. Ramsey County Commissioner Jan Parker Mayor Roe welcomed Ramsey County Commissioner Jan Parker who provided a highlight of Ramsey County activities and reviewed various topics of mutual in- terest. Commissioner Parker and her assistant distributed an informational packet to the City Council, staff and public in attendance; and offered her willingness to attend any meetings with the City Council at their request. Commissioner Parker noted that the informational packet included Ramsey Coun- ty initiatives, as well as several items she would highlight during tonight's brief presentation. Commissioner Parker reviewed current Ramsey County budget considerations, in their second year of their two-year cycle, under an initial suggested exercise for all departments to cut their respective 2012 and 2013 budgets by 6% annually. Commissioner Parker highlighted the state legislative situation and ongoing dis- cussions, and the relationship between the state and federal funding and property
