MAYOR DEMOS: Where would we keep the horses in Roseville?

MR. HONCHELL: In behalf of the owner I have to say that
we did suggest that they and Mr. Reiling get together and we
suggested to Mr. Reiling that he contact these people and there
were conversations but let's say it was not mutually agreed as
to who was going to sell what land for what value.

MAYOR DEMOS: Do you have any other questions?

COUNCILMAN FRANKE: Would Alternative I be satisfactory
to you?

MR. ADAMS: Well. . .

MAYOR DEMOS: Charlie, is that true - is the property
to the east of where their house is - he says they're being
assessed for the sewer across the street right now.

MR. HONCHELL: I believe there's a misunderstanding. What
you were assessed for is trunk assessments. There's a differ-
ence to the City of Roseville in a so-called trunk assessment
and a lateral assessment. What we're building now is a lateral
that goes right by the front of your house. Down the road
there are bigger sewers. This is an eight inch sewer, even-
tually"it turns into 12 (inaudible) eventually it's 36 inches.
There is a whole series of things down stream of where you
connect. The City doesn't charge someone for a 36 inch pipe
just because it happens to run by his home. Everybody in the
system, if you will, gets some assessment for oversizing pipes,
building lift stations, providing what is called trunk sewers -
oversizing of the sewer - to accept people as they hook up
up stream. That's what your property was assessed but nothing
in the way of what we call a lateral - for a sewer that would
run past your house. That has never been assessed, according
to our records. Only trunk ~ewer.

MR. ADAMS:
postponed until
to look at it.
some people who
I would like to

I was wondering if we could get this maybe
the next meeting so we'd have a better chance
My mother is kind of leery - she has talked to
are very leery of lift pumps and so forth and
take some time to just look at this.

MAYOR DEMOS: We have a lot of people on lift pumps and
they find them satisfactory (inaudible). If you put in a lift
pump, the assessment is half. In another situation you might
be picking up 100% of the whole and it might end up more.

COUNCILMAN JOHNSON: Alternatives III and IV, the recom-
mended assessment would be the whole thing' - 100% of it. It
would be much more costly because there's no lift pump involved.
Alternatives I and II are the ones that are recommended for
assessment at 50%.

~
