<br />11AYOR DEMOS: I'm going to move approval. I feel this way <br />we have, in the metropolitan area, a proposal for a reinvest- <br />ment fund to be established throughout the Metropolitan Council <br />so we could all start rebuilding the central cities, basically. <br />I personally think we should reinvest in our own cities and not <br />wait (inaudible). I think streets is one method of reducing <br />urban blight. I think we saw that last summer when people told <br />us - on certain streets - now that the street is fixed, our <br />driveway looks shabby, we fixed up our driveway, we painted, we <br />did this or that. I've seen that happen time after time. I <br />have no hesitancy at all. <br /> <br />MAYOR DEMOS then introduced the following resolution and <br /> <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />Resolution No. 7320 <br />~ <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE CONSTRUCTION <br />OF IMPROVEMENT NO. P-8l-23 <br />UNDER AND PURSUANT TO <br />MINNESOTA STATUTES, CHAPTER 429 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, that in accordance with the provisions of Minnesota <br />Statutes 1961, Chapter 429, as amended, the Council held a <br />public hearing on the proposed construction of Improvement No. <br />P-8l-23 consisting of the installation of bituminous paving, <br />concrete curb and gutter and necessary appurtenances on Patton <br />Road from Stanbridge Avenue northerly to Brenner Avenue, as <br />described in the Notice of Hearing at a cost presently esti- <br />mated at .$62,153.02, and substantially in accordance with the <br />preliminary report as to the feasibility thereof which is now <br />on file in the office of the City Manager; and having con- <br />sidered the vie"~ of all interested persons and being fully <br />advised in the premises, the Council does hereby determine and <br />order that said improvement shall be constructed and financed, <br />and special assessments shall be levied therefor, pursuant to <br />said Chapter 429, and that the area proposed to be assessed <br />therefor shall include the property as described in the Notice <br />of Hearing. The City Public Works Director is directed to <br />prepare and submit to the Council the final plans and specifi- <br />cations. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution <br /> <br />was duly seconded by Councilman Franke and upon roll call vote <br /> <br />being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All; <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon <br /> <br />said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br /> <br />6 <br />
