<br /> <br /> ROSEVILLE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />MEETING MINUTES FOR <br />November 2, 2017 6:00pm <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Baggenstoss, Gelbach, Heikkila, Hoag, Newby, O’Brien, <br /> Stoner, Warzecha <br />ABSENT: <br /> Bole <br />LHB STAFF: <br />Major <br />STAFF: <br /> Brokke, Christensen, Taylor <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> INTRODUCTIONS <br />1) <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL/PUBLIC COMMENT <br />2) <br />No public in attendance for the actual meeting. The meeting followed an open house for the <br />Cleveland Avenue park site planning effort with 42 attendees. <br /> <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES – October 3, 2017 MEETING <br />3) <br />Commissioner Hoag moved to approve the October 3, 2017 meeting minutes. Commissioner <br />Warzecha seconds. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> Cleveland Avenue Park Planning Community Open House <br />4) <br />Park Superintendent Taylor provided the history of the park planning process for 2134 <br />Cleveland Avenue N. Planning meetings were held on: <br /> <br /> <br />Tuesday, August 29, 2017 – Community meeting to hear opportunities and <br /> brainstorm (62 attendees) <br /> <br /> <br />Thursday October 5, 2017 – Concept design review and comments (54 attendees) <br /> <br /> <br />Thursday, November 2 , 2017 – Preferred concept master plan <br /> <br />In addition, feedback was collected via on-line, phone calls, website, and individual <br />meetings. <br /> <br />LHB staff, Lydia Major, reviewed the preferred concept for the Cleveland Avenue site. <br />Specific feedback on the location was the traffic concern on County Rd. B and Cleveland. <br />The preferred concept addresses some of the concern with the use of berms and physical <br />barriers. The design also incorporates two play experiences (nature themed and inspired <br />area), picnic tables, bike racks and a pollinator garden. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the existing and future tree canopy. <br /> <br /> <br />
