The Official City Newsletter for Arden Hills Residents September 2019 <br />Summit Development to Build 120-Unit Senior Living Community with Park and Trails <br />The Arden Hills City Council <br />recently approved a plan for a new <br />120-unit senior housing community <br />west of Old Highway 10 on vacant <br />land south of Parkshore Drive. <br />The proposed development <br />will include memory-care <br />suites, assisted-living units and <br />independent-living apartments. <br />The project is slated to begin in <br />2020 and take 18 months to build. <br />The community and care will be <br />managed by Walker Methodist. <br />Proposed amenities include craft <br />rooms, library, health and exercise <br />center, salon, deli and theater. <br />The project <br />also will <br />include new <br />trails around <br />the property, <br />along with <br />exercise <br />stations and <br />shuffleboard <br />courts on <br />adjoining park <br />land. <br />The park land is owned by the city <br />and will be developed as part of <br />the approved project. The park will <br />be available for the Arden Hills <br />community to use. The exercise <br />stations will be geared to seniors, <br />allow users to remain seated and <br />have accessible options. One station <br />will have play equipment for <br />children. <br />Proposed Summit Development Senior Housing Community to include 120 units managed by Walker Methodist
