Thursday, Llarch 15th. 1951 <br /> <br />NOTE: Before the meeting Hennan J. Doepner as notary public adminis- <br />tered the oath of office to the officers-elect in the following order: Walter <br />Cllmmings, as mayor, K. Rex McCl~, B. J. DeLange, and Walter T. Mack, each as <br />trustee, otto C. Graffunderand Frank M. Schmitt, each as Justice of the Peace, <br />and Verne K. Fldffer and Herbert Winkel, each as constable; then Walter T. <br />Mack as notary public administered the oath of office to Herman .J. Doepner as <br />clerl<:; Treasurer-elect Worth G. Read was unable to attend by reason of delayed <br />notice. The foregoing sworn officers thereupon signed their oaths of office <br />which were filed with the clerk. <br /> <br />Notwithstanding the fact that the council was advised that it <br />was not legally necessary to canvass the vote of the Llarch 9th election, such <br />was done by the council. <br /> <br />'ll1ereupon the first meeting of the council, previously called by <br />Mayor-elect Cummings, and written notice thereof mailed to all officers-elect <br />by the clerkpelect, was called to order by Mayor CllIllIIlings, who presided, and <br />the clerk recorded the following minutes: <br /> <br />The roll being called by the clerk, all members of the council <br />respooded with "present." <br /> <br />Doepnet' moved and Mack seconded a motion to fix the bonds of <br />certain officers as follows: <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Clerk, $1,000.00, for the term expLring on the first business <br />day in January, 1953. <br />Treasurer, $l~000.00, for the term expiring on the first busi- <br />ness day in January, 1952. <br />One justice of the peace, and one constable, $500.00 each for <br />the terms expiring on the first business day in January, <br />1952. <br />One justice of the peace, and One constable, $500.00 each for <br />the teIlllS expiring on the first business day in January, <br />1953. <br />All prell!iums thereon to be paid out of the General Fund. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />In response to a letter from the Ramsey County Assessor request- <br />ing Mayor Cummings to recommend romeone for appointment as village assessor, <br />the clerk, by unanimous action of the council, was authorized to submit the name <br />of Wilbert M. Krautkremer for appoin tment because he polled the highest vote of <br />two candidates at the March 9th election. <br /> <br />Mack moved and DeLange seconded a motion that Public-Officials <br />Bond No. 2386606 of The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, in the <br />amount of $1,000.00, issued to Herman J. Doepner as clerk, for the term of <br />Llarch 9th, 1951 to January 2, 1953, be appt"oved; motion carried unanimously. <br />
