<br />MINUTES OF REGUIAR MEETING <br />COUNCIL OF THE VILIAGE OF. ARDEN HILlS <br />Monday, July 30, 1956 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P.M. by Acting Mayor Hoyt. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present; Hoyt, McClung, Stromquist <br />Absent; Ashbach, DeIe.nge <br /> <br />242 <br /> <br />Tht;l Minutes of the June 25, June 28 and July 2 meetings <br />were read by Clerk. A corrected description of a lot ' <br />e requested rezoned to Commercial in Shadey Oaks Addition <br />three sets of Minutes were approved by the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Donald Stecker, 1419 Arden Place presented Council with a petition <br />signed by forteen residents requesting that the question of granting liquor <br />licenses in the village be submitted to the voters at the next annual <br />village election. After a check by the village attorney, the petition <br />was filed with Clerk records, to be given Council consideration at <br />the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />of the Council <br />which owner <br />was made. The <br /> <br />Mr. Friedman was informed that no recommendation has been given as yet <br />in regard to his three narrow lots in Josephine Lake Park. Several <br />residents, including Mrs. June Kinney, Mr. Tom Lannasseo, Mr. Roy Swanson, <br />andMrs. Jos. McClosky opposed the request for building permits for those <br />lots as a violation of our Building Code, Dr. Hoyt suggested that the <br />group send letters to the Council with constructive suggestions as to <br />the utilization of the three narrow lots. <br />~ <br />y~.~n was informed that no recommendation by the Planning Board has <br />been made yet in regard to his request to put a Trailer Park in the <br />village. <br /> <br />Mr. Behr appeared before Council to request information concerning the <br />rezone to Commercial request in the Shadey Oaks Addition, Dr. Hoyt <br />informed him that to date no recommendation by the Planning Board has <br />been made, Dr. Hoyt read a letter he rec'd. from y~. McEaugh1in, stating <br />that tentative plans are to erect a brick building or warehouse approx. <br />40' wide and 100' long at a cost of approximately $40,000.00 to $50,000,00. <br /> <br />Mr. Ryan, repr~enting the Asgaard Construction Company requested <br />permission to erect a Phillips 66 station at the SW corner of Lexington <br />Ave. and Co. Rd. E. Afber Council discussion, Stromquist moved and McClung <br />seconded the motion the matter be referred to the Planning Board. Motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />Mr. Roy Owen appeared and explained to Council a drainage problem by Tiller <br />eLane and Carlton Rrive. Mr. Owen recommended that a pond at the location <br />be drained. Dr. oyt suggested the matter be investigated at an Aug. 6 <br />meeting on drainage problems to be held near that area. <br /> <br />Mr. Mciaszek appeared before Council to request the rezoning from Farm <br />Residence to Commercial some property near Round Lake and Cleveland Ave. <br />His plans are to put a night club or dance hall at the location. He was <br />informed by Attorney of the procedure f.~ rezoning, Dr. Hoyt requested <br />that he present his plans for the developement and petition for rez~ning to <br />the Council. <br /> <br />. <br />
