I1Layor Ashbach <br /> al'ived at the meeting at about 9:00 P.l/. <br /> The Minutes of the October 29 meeting 01' the. Council were read by the Clel'k <br /> and approved by the Council. <br /> . Lyle Sauers, representing the Geo. R. Sauers Son~any appeared in regard <br /> to Shorewood Hills 3 Plat. After Council discussion, McClung moved and <br /> Delange seconded the motion that Clerk be authorized to accept the Shore- <br /> wood Hills 3 plat subject to the following conditions: <br /> 1. 'Upon l"eceipt or execution of easements fOl' roads from Northern States <br /> Power CO!l~any. <br /> 2. Upon receipt of the street profiles from the Village Engineer, and <br /> then approval of the Public Works Comraittee Chairman. <br /> 3. Upon execution of a perforrMnce bond of $21,000.00 as outlined in <br /> ~~. Carley's letter of July 13, 1956. <br /> 4. Upon payment of a cash deposit of $1,000.00 by the developer to cover <br /> engineering costs for the plat. <br /> Motion passed. <br /> The Council informed W~. Sauers that we must receive NT. Carley's <br /> recommenda t ions on Shorewood Hills 1 pIa t before we can release the <br /> pe., formance bond. <br /> In regal'd to Registered Land Survey #112, Gerald Skildum, the developer <br /> was requested to have his attorney prepare a highway deed or easement and <br /> to pay the necessary expense to have it deeded to the village of .Arden Hills, <br /> to get the recon~endations from our Village Engineer, and the performance <br /> bond as recmnmedded by ~~. Carley, and to come to the next meeting with <br /> these documents prepareQ ~~. Skildum agreed to pay any necessary engineel'ing <br /> fees for the pIa t. Upon motion by DeLan~e, sec onded by Ashbach, the road <br /> in the pla~ will be named "Cummings Lane' in hOlllor of our first mayol', the <br /> late Mr. Walter Cunnnings. Motion passed. <br /> I <br /> FINANCE COMMET'i'EE: The Clerk reported a balance in the treasury of <br /> :';;16,062.10. u~s. StromqUist stated that the November budget will be <br /> lr.ailed to Council members the following week. <br /> PUBLIC WOHKS COiiITHTTLJ:;: l\iIl'. Delange reported that some new street signs <br /> have been installed. Dr. Howt sugijested that we replace some of the <br /> village "stop" signs with "Yeild" signs. lvir. Delange will check into the <br /> elT@tter. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY CON~1ITTEE: 1~. Weber, Police Chief reported thatwith the <br /> popula t i on increase in Arden Hills, the Village Police have a large increase <br /> in the number of calls and that they are putting in too many hours. The <br /> Police Department reques Leda filas tel' nLap of the Village showing new streets, <br /> and also new plat maps as they are submitted by the developers. <br /> Nlt'. Weber reported that the Federal Government is to donate our Police Dept. <br /> a riot gun. <br /> A training class for Civil Defense Police, instructed by Victor Weber will <br /> be started in January, 1957 for ]\Iounds View and Arden Hills. <br /> In l'egard to fire protection f'or 1957, ]~.
