It. <br /> <br />Roll Call: Present; AShbach, Hoyt, Winfrey, Stromquist <br />Absent; DeLange <br /> <br />The minutes of the January 28, 1957 meeting of the Council were read and <br />approved as ammended. <br /> <br />~Mr. George Oster applied for the position of Village Plumbing Inspector. <br />His application was referred to the Public Welfare Co~~ittee. <br /> <br />LTr. Loftsgaarden, representing the Grotto, appeared in regard to the <br />rezoning request for the property of the Lakeview Terrace. Dr. Hoyt reported <br />the recommendations of t he Public Vtelfare Committee that the use as a <br />private club should be allowed to continue, but trmt the property should <br />not be rezoned to c omme.t'c ial. ]'{U'. Loftsgaarden s ta ted tna t the Gro.,.to group <br />would be willing to set up a set of restrictive covenants to gaurantee the <br />continaed use as a priva te club only, if the Council would consider rezon- <br />ing of it to com~ercial. The request was again referred to thePublic <br />Welfare CorDIili ttee. <br /> <br />Ml'. Kenneth Sparks appeared to request information about the possibility <br />of the village to purchase land in Arden Hills #2 plat for a public play- <br />ground. 1.'11'. Sparks was appointed bS the Mayor as chairman of a committee <br />of his choosing to check into the ma~ter and to bring in a report to the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Thon~son, Attorney for L~s. Charlotte Daly, requested that the Council <br />rezone the Daly property to light industrial to allow continued operation <br />of the dog kennel on the property. After Council dis cus sian, Dl'. Hoyt <br />made the motion that Mrs. Charlotte Daly be l'equested to discontinue use <br />of the dog kennel as soon as possible, and that the Council see to it that <br />the opel'a tion cea se wi thin thirty days. 1~. Winfrey seconded the mo'uion <br />and it' was pa,;sed b~r the '"ouncil. <br /> <br />Johnny Rysgaad, representing the lndiam Head Council and the Boy Scouts <br />presented Mayor Robert Ashbach with a copy of the Day Scout Handbook <br />cOlili1emorating the i&Xk 15 millionth copy published, in recognition of the <br />interest and tilile given by)!:r. Ashbach to cOllID1Unity affairs and to the <br />Boy Scouts. <br /> <br />FuBLIC SAYETY: IiIr. Weber requested Council approval <br />.dOgS roaming in the village. J:lr.
