<br /> ) 30Cf <br /> / MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br /> / COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> / <br /> / Monday, December 30, 1957 <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:05 by Mayor Ashbach. <br /> ROLL CALL: Present; Ashbach, Hoyt, Winfrey, Stromquist <br /> Absent; DeLange <br /> ENGINEER'S REPORT: Engineer Carley reported that both contractors <br /> submitting bids for the Grant Avenue improvements are willing to split <br /> . their bids, so the total bid for resurfacing and for storm sewer <br /> installation will cost less. <br /> Mr. Carley advised that easements be obtained for this and any future <br /> improvements by condemnation of the land needed. Attorney Courtney also <br /> felt the condemnation of land needed to be the besy village policy. <br /> Mr. Oourtney recommended that all property be replaced to original <br /> condition after digging by Village. <br /> Upon motion by Hoyt, seconded by Winfrey A.- l,.~ ~ OIt-m c. t. Motion passed. Clerk to receive a letter from <br /> Stanley Miller requesting that certified check of $1500.00 for road <br /> completion be sent to his contractor for payment for road work performed. <br /> A letter from residents of Arden Hills #2 in regard to a drainage <br /> problem was referred to Engineer Carley. <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT: Upon motion by Mr. Winfrey, seconded by Mrs. <br /> Stromquist, ,a resolution commending Dr. Harvey Hoyt for his fine service <br /> to the Village as Trustee~on the Council during the past three years, <br /> was read and approved. Motion passed. <br /> 0 <br /> In regard to the matter of generator repair on Jack Wolf's car, the <br /> . Public Safety Committee again recommended that the bill be paid by Mr <br /> Wolf. <br /> The Public Safety Committee recommended that if in the future, any private <br /> car has to be usedHfor police purposes, that 7t~ per mile be paid, while <br /> it is in service, and if extra policement are needed, that they be paid <br /> $1.25 per hour. Action on the recommendation was tabled until the 1958 <br /> Council meets. <br /> ATTORNEY'S REPORT: Mr. Courtney reported he has had no answer to his <br /> letter to Mr. Surina in regard to the uncompleted house on Tiller Lane. <br /> Building Inspector Kelly reported the structure is in sound shape except <br />
